We served 4700 homeless persons on average monthly in 2003.

Who are the homeless?

According to the 2004 Tarrant County Homeless Survey, on any given night 5,278 persons are likely to be homeless with an annualized estimate of 12,064. Itemized estimates include 2,617 men, 1,715 women and 946 children. Of those surveyed 1,076 which represents 20.4% are considered Chronically Homeless, meaning they have been homeless for more than a year or have had 4 or more episodes of homelessness over the past 3 years. The longer a person remains homeless, the less likely they are to have a chance for full restoration into the community.
